Auto Air & Argon
Cylinder
The Auto Air was removed and replaced
with a Zeagle inflation mechanism, and the convoluted hose was shortened
by a few inches. An Apeks second stage with a two metre hose is used
for shallow water bailout, this is connected to the diluent first
stage. A 1.5 litre Argon cylinder is used for dry suit inflation.
The cylinder was placed on the diluent side of the Inspiration so
it would not obstruct the oxygen tap. For more information on the
Argon cylinder use this link: Ambient
Pressure Diving |

Securing The Argon Cylinder
The handsets have stainless steel split
rings and piston clips attached. A Poseidon Cyclone first stage is
fitted to the Argon cylinder with a button type submersible pressure
gauge, the Argon cylinder is attached to a Mule bracket, and the Mule
bracket is attached to the diluent cylinder cam band. The diluent
cylinder cam band was replaced with a standard BCD type to keep the
Mule bracket securely in place. |

Harness, Gauges &
Counter-lungs
The Inspiration harness has been replaced with a Scubapro aluminium
backplate with one piece harness and crotch strap. The Inspiration
submersible pressure gauges have been replaced with Scubapro submersible
pressure gauges with 100 cm hoses. When
you fit an aluminium backplate to the Inspiration you will have to
find an alternative method of holding down the counter-lungs securely.
A crotch strap from Ambient Pressure Diving and was cut in half. This
left two lengths of webbing with a male clip on each piece. The ends
of the webbing were stitched up to form a slot wide enough to slide
the waist band through. You will need to adjust the length of the
webbing to the length of your upper body before you stitch the waist
band so that it doesn't sit above or below your waist when you don
the Inspiration. |

Counter-lung Dump Valve
The Inspiration counter-lung dump valve
has been removed and replaced with one from a Drager Dolphin SCR.
This is adjustable and allows you to run a minimum loop volume and
avoid rapid ascents in the event of the solenoid sticking open. You
must use the older type backnut on this dump valve because the new
type backnut is to big to pass through the hole in the counterlung.
Using the correct quantity and type of sealant on the backnut thread
is especially important, because air can leak up the thread on the
backnut and through the counter-lung canvas. |

Automatic Diluent Valve
(ADV)
Bob Howells T type, ADV (Automatic Diluent
Valve). The mouthpiece hose on this side had to be shortened by seven
ribs of the convoluted hose, to even it out with the hose on the
other side. A Scubapro 120 degree bend is connected to a Apeks free
flow device which enables you to turn off the ADV if necessary, this
is fitted to a Oceanic low pressure hose which is connected to the
diluent first stage. Please note that Bob Howells ADV is no longer
available or supported, this link will take you to the Ambient Pressure
Diving website where you can purchase there ADV. For more information
on the ADV use this link: Ambient
